Winter Carnival Warm Up Station
Winter Carnival has been an annual affair for the community of McCall since the 1960’s. In those early days the community searched for a way to bring people to McCall during the winter months, so the idea of a Winter Carnival was begun. Each year a theme is chosen and then the area businesses build ice and snow sculptures following the theme.
A Children’s Neon Light Parade kicks off the Winter Carnival on the last Friday of January. This event is sponsored by the McCall Chamber of Commerce. Children from the area and their parents gather at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ, to register and receive their “glow sticks “ and megaphones, and then they march in a children’s parade to the opening ceremony.
