We will celebrate the Lenten Season beginning with a Service of Ashes on the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday. This year that day is March 5th. During worship, Communion will be served followed by the receiving of ashes. God is here to remind us that as we travel from ashes to ashes and dust to dust, God holds that dust in loving hands and breathes Spirit into us, creating, shaping and renewing us at every moment. The church is located at First and Park Street and everyone is invited to attend these special services.
Our Lenten Suppers, a simple meal of soup and bread will begin on March 8th at 5:30 in the church fellowship hall and continue each Wednesday through March ending on Wednesday April 5th. After we eat we will have a time of reflection and study. This humble meal, short study and time of fellowship brings the people together in a unique way and helps us toward continued awareness of the sacrifice of the Christ and the time of waiting until Holy Week.
We invite the community to share in these meals and enjoy our studies. For more information call the church office at 634-5430.
